Welcome!

My name is Nicole Heili, and I am a high school art educator and professional artist with a lifelong passion for creativity, learning, and artistic expression. I was born and raised in Merrill, Wisconsin, and later moved to Menomonie to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Art Education at the University of Wisconsin–Stout. Becoming an art educator has long been a dream of mine, inspired by my love of art. Teaching allows me to encourage young artists to explore their creativity, develop their skills, and discover an appreciation for the artistic process.

I currently teach high school art and live in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, with my husband. In the fall of 2023, I earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis in art, from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Throughout my graduate studies, I rediscovered the importance of nurturing my own creative practice alongside my work as an educator. This experience strengthened my commitment to continued artistic growth and inspired me to develop a meaningful body of work to share with others.

My artistic practice uses a variety of mediums, including oil paint, watercolor, charcoal, sewing, and clay. While I enjoy experimenting with different materials and techniques, pottery is my primary focus. I am especially drawn to the process of throwing on the pottery wheel and creating functional, three-dimensional vessels that bring art into everyday life. Through my work, I strive to balance creativity and craftsmanship while exploring the beauty of handmade objects and their place in our daily routines.

As both an educator and an artist, I continue to seek opportunities to learn, experiment, and grow. Whether I am guiding students in the classroom or creating in the studio, my goal is to foster creativity, embrace the process of making, and share my passion for art with others.
